The Bold Type is a show about three girls -- Sutton, Jane, and Kat -- that airs on Freeform. They work at a magazine called Scarlet. (Think of Cosmopolitan, and you're on the right track.) They're three best friends who are taking the working world by storm and aren't asking for forgiveness for going after what they want in life.

This show is the right show for the time we are living in to promote and uplift women into being the best selves they can be. The Bold Type has it's ups and downs as any good television show, but it also has heart. It shows the struggles of being told by a certain age the ability to have children slims due to how your body is working. It talks about the struggles of being harassed in the work place. It talks about how women are mainly commented on in the media based on their appearance not the points they are making. It shows how that having two really good friends are all one needs in life to get through anything life throws at them. It shows heartbreak. It shows love. It shows how to love yourself for who you are.

This show is the show every girl needs to be watching to feel empowered when taking on the world by storm. It is the show I needed to remind myself why I loved writing and gave myself the push to start this website and blog about the things I do every day (including watching shows and reading books and self care and attending concerts). The show showed me that everything I want to pick apart about myself is what causes me to stand out and feel bold.

This show also tackles a lot of popular hot topics going on in the nation as we speak. It talks about things that make people feel uncomfortable but are issues that are being raised. It also shows you both sides to it all. It shows you everything. It shows how three great friends go about trying to understand these together.

All in all, this is my favorite show I've watched so far in 2019. I binged it all on Hulu before falling back into my habit of watching Gilmore Girls (be looking for that post to come soon once I make it all the way to the end....again).

Have you watched The Bold Type? What are your thoughts? Know of any shows I should watch and review? Send them my way!
