Puddin' is the companion novel to Dumplin' by the same author -- Julie Murphy. Puddin' is told from the point of view of Millie and Callie, who are two characters that could not be any more different (said in the Chandler Bing voice).

The story is one that I can relate to on both sides. I love Millie and her ability to be bold and brave and beautiful and true to herself. I love Callie and her ability to make things happen and to do things without fear (for the most part). I love how Murphy tells this story in such a beautiful way that I, like with Dumplin', saw so much of myself whenever I was listening to this story. I enjoyed how she told the story of how puppy love begins and the fear of the unknown. I was ecstatic with how she told how if you want something to happen in your life YOU GO AND MAKE IT HAPPEN. She spoke to my soul so much that I haven't cried so much in a book in so long that I was randomly just sobbing while driving around while listening to this book.

Yes, I listened to it on my Audible account, but the narrators really make the characters. I loved how that it had an effect on how I experienced the book. It made it to where the words were in my head and playing out like a movie. The details Murphy gives for attire and the surroundings makes it to where I'm not grasping at straws for the point she is making.

Murphy also continues to show that being fat isn't a bad thing, but something that has no effect on the worth of someone at the same time. She reminds us all of how that you can be fat and still be a fierce individual. She reminds us all of how that there are stories to be told of people of all backgrounds and body types.

This book is one that I recommend to all Dumplin' fans and continues to solidify why that I love books by Julie Murphy (which I now have all of them on Audible). Now, I need to go make a cross stitch of my favorite quotes.

You can find this book here at Amazon: Puddin'.
